Hotel St. George Lobby

In the 1930’s the Hotel St. George was one of the largest in New York City and accommodated celebrities, athletes, and movie stars. Designed by renowned architect, Emery Roth, the building lost its luster and slowly fell into disrepair before it was reinvented as a co-op in the 1980’s.

Our renovation of the 3-level lobby aimed to inject some of the original Art Deco elegance back into the Landmark District, Brooklyn Heights building. Working closely with the building’s coop board, we designed a new terrazzo staircase with custom railings, concierge station, mailroom and upper lobby sitting area. Finishes and furniture were replaced throughout. The project also included a new mechanical system and lighting.

If you're a New York City history buff, this Real Estate Weekly piece sheds more light on the building's interesting history.
