The Stephen Weiss Studio is a 20,000-square foot building located in the West Village. Together with an adjacent brick townhouse, it serves as the headquarters for Urban Zen, a philanthropic foundation headed by Donna Karan and dedicated to preservation of culture, education and healthcare focused on mind, body and spirit. Originally constructed as an artist’s studio, the main building includes a magnificent rooftop garden and a huge main space for exhibits, weddings, and other large scale events.

As the Building Architect and Owner Representative for more than a decade, Katz Architecture has been responsible for exterior and interior renovations, event permits, modifications to their retail shop, code consulting, and zoning studies.
