KATZ has been retained as Owner's Representative and Architect of Record for Urban Zen, a philanthropic organization founded by Donna Karan dedicated to global healing and well being. The Urban Zen Center is located in the Stephan Weiss Studio, a 12,000 SF building in the West Village. The facility hosts ongoing programs that focus on issues in healthcare, education and culture worldwide.
KATZ Architecture has been retained to renovate the lobby of the Hotel St. George, located in Brooklyn Heights. Once the largest hotel in NYC, the St. George Hotel drew celebrities, athletes, and presidential hopefuls to its many ballrooms and largest indoor salt-water pool in the US. Built in various phases between 1885 and 1929, the structure has served a number of uses. The lobby under renovation is located at the base of a 30 story tower converted to co-op residences in 1984.

We were thrilled with David and his entire team's performance and skill in our store buildout. The "Katz Team" saw our project through from inception to completion... and were able to constantly arrive at creative and thoughtful solutions.
David has a good eye and creative ideas that really worked well for our space. He was always fair, easy to work with, and always kept our budget in mind. When it came time to start the work, he arranged for an excellent contractor who completed the work on time and with great workmanship.
David Katz has been a pleasure to work with from the beginning through the end of a major lobby renovation project in our building. He has been professional, attentive to detail, responsive, budget-minded, and creative in resolving all challenges.
