This competition entry for the WTC memorial, done in association with David Rockwood, envisions a glass bottom reflection pool at street level suspended over lower gardens in the footprints of the towers. A memorial sanctuary - a free-standing organic tower - is seen as a place of scaleless quality to mirror the immeasurable dimensions of loss. Light fixtures, concealed in the lower garden are assembled in the composition of the stars of the night sky on 9/11. The sanctuary tower is lit from above by a pattern of 3,022 prisms, one for each of those lost in the tragedy.

We were thrilled with David and his entire team's performance and skill in our store buildout. The "Katz Team" saw our project through from inception to completion... and were able to constantly arrive at creative and thoughtful solutions.
David has a good eye and creative ideas that really worked well for our space. He was always fair, easy to work with, and always kept our budget in mind. When it came time to start the work, he arranged for an excellent contractor who completed the work on time and with great workmanship.
David Katz has been a pleasure to work with from the beginning through the end of a major lobby renovation project in our building. He has been professional, attentive to detail, responsive, budget-minded, and creative in resolving all challenges. I would definitely enlist his services for future projects and recommend him to others.
David Katz is an extremely talented architect who helped us create a beautiful terrace, a wonderful living room/dining room open space, and combine two aprtments in Manhattan seamlessly. He has a great eye.
